On Day 1, your journey begins as you arrive at Amritsar Railway Station, where you’ll be picked up and transferred to your hotel for check-in. After settling in and enjoying some refreshments, the day will be dedicated to spiritual exploration. You will visit the Golden Temple (Harimandir Sahib), the most revered site in Sikhism, where you can immerse yourself in the peaceful surroundings and take part in the divine atmosphere of the temple complex. Following that, you’ll visit a few other significant Gurudwaras in the city, such as Baba Atal Sahib, a stunning nine-story memorial dedicated to the young Baba Atal Rai, Durgiana Temple, known for its beauty and peaceful environment, and Ramsar Sahib, where Guru Arjan Dev compiled the first version of the Guru Granth Sahib. These sacred sites offer a glimpse into the rich religious and cultural heritage of Amritsar. In the evening, after your visits, you will return to your hotel to rest and reflect on the day’s experiences, with an overnight stay at the hotel, ready for the next day of exploration.
On Day 2, after a delicious breakfast, you will embark on a morning drive to Dera Baba Nanak, a significant pilgrimage site for Sikhs. Here, you will visit Sri Darbar Sahib and Sri Chola Sahib Gurudwaras, both of which hold deep spiritual and historical significance. The serene atmosphere and the spiritual importance of these sites will leave a lasting impression. From Dera Baba Nanak, you will head towards the Indian border to get a glimpse of Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib located in Pakistan, which holds immense importance as the place where Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, spent the final years of his life. Though you cannot cross over to Pakistan, the sight of this holy site from the Indian side is an unforgettable experience. After spending some time absorbing the peaceful surroundings and connecting with the rich Sikh history, you will drive back to Amritsar. The evening will be free for you to relax and reflect on the day’s experiences. You will stay overnight at the hotel in Amritsar, ready for the next day’s journey.
On Day 3, after breakfast, you will begin your journey towards Bhatinda. Enroute, you will visit several important Gurudwaras, each with its unique significance. The first stop is Tarn Taran Sahib, a prominent Gurdwara founded by Guru Arjan Dev Ji, where you can pay respects and experience the peaceful surroundings. Next, you will head to Goindwal Sahib, another revered site associated with Guru Amar Das Ji, known for its historical importance and beautiful sarovar (holy tank). Then, you will proceed to Khadur Sahib, where Guru Angad Dev Ji spent time during his life, and experience the divine energy that surrounds this sacred place. Your journey will continue towards Muktsar Sahib, the site of the historic battle of Muktsar where many Sikhs achieved martyrdom in defense of their faith. After these enriching spiritual experiences, you will arrive at Bhatinda in the evening and check into your hotel for an overnight stay, reflecting on the profound journey through the sacred Gurdwaras.
On Day 4, after breakfast, you will begin your day with a visit to Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, one of the five Takhts (seats of temporal authority in Sikhism). It is historically significant as Guru Gobind Singh Ji stayed here and compiled the final version of the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhism. After offering your prayers and immersing yourself in the peaceful atmosphere, you will drive towards Patiala in the afternoon. Upon reaching Patiala in the evening, you will check into your hotel and relax after a day filled with spiritual experiences. The overnight stay in Patiala will provide you a comfortable rest for the next day of your journey.
On Day 5, after breakfast, you’ll start your day with an early morning drive to Fatehgarh Sahib, a revered site in Sikh history. Upon arrival, visit Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib, which marks the place where the two younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh, were martyred. The Gurudwara is a significant symbol of bravery and sacrifice in Sikhism. Next, visit Gurudwara Jyoti Sarup, dedicated to the memory of Guru Gobind Singh’s youngest son, Sahibzada Fateh Singh, and his martyrdom. After your Darshan at Dukh Niwaran Sahib, you will have some free time to explore Patiala Bazar, a bustling market where you can indulge in traditional Punjabi shopping. The market is filled with vibrant clothing, jewelry, and handicrafts, perfect for souvenirs and gifts to take back home. In the afternoon, you’ll be dropped off at Rajpura or Ludhiana Railway Station to catch your train for the onward journey, marking the end of this spiritual and cultural tour.
